Entrance-way Signage

As everyone has seen, one of the signs in the front entrance-way was damaged by hurricane Irma. The board is working to get that replaced. However in the meantime we have been approached by Christian Care Ministries regarding purchasing / removing the other Magnolia Lakes sign so they can replace it with one that advertises their business.

The board would like to hear from you. Should we accept or reject this offer? Please comment by clicking the comment baloon in the article title. Note your comments will not appear until reviewed, so please only comment once.

Request for Opinion on Proposed Covenants Change

At a recent HOA meeting a resident brought up concerns regarding the covenants. As you know, our covenants limit use and long term storage of play equipment in front yards. Article III states

All games and play apparatus remaining outdoors for more than three days shall be located at the rear or side of the dwelling, so as not to be visible from any street. The Committee may make exceptions and permit basketball backboards or similar play apparatus that is visible from the street. Any basketball standards shall be constructed of uniform black enamel pole and white backboard or as otherwise approved by the Committee and shall be a minimum of 20’ from any paved public street.

However this covenant does not address back yards on homes backing a lake. The HOA is considering drafting a new amendment to add additional restrictions to these areas.

However before we begin this process, we’d like to know what you, the homeowners think. Please take a moment to comment below. Please include your house # and street in the comment.
