Recently a few residents have suggested placing a gate at the front entrance-way as a means for controlling some undesirable traffic in our neighborhood.  This is not as simple as erecting a shack or putting up some fence.  For starters we would have to purchase the streets from the City of Melbourne.  Even assuming they are currently for sale, such a sale would be upwards of 2 million dollars.  If that’s not discouraging enough, we would thereafter be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the streets.  Needless to say this would result in considerable increases in our annual assessments.  Perhaps more than most residents would care for.
